Actually, Honda ATF is the best lubricant. You can put it in manual tranys as well. The reason honda doesnt do it is because it will leak easyer than motor oil. Honda had a bulletin in aprox 1989. It pertained to civics with a whining noise in manuel trans. The noise was comming from the differential. So Honda had us drain the oil and use Honda ATF instead. It worked!
