Question 2003 Tranny recall v6 or 4cyl?

i purchased a used 03 accord, (72K, very clean, low mileage), it has the 2.4L, from what I could research, looks like most of the tranny issues are related to the 01 thru 03 having the V6.. anyone know if this is accurate (any specific recall stating same) or am I just trying to make myself feel better? V6 (3.0) have a different tranny than the 2.4L?

I don't think there was a recall for the 03-07 Accords. Most automatic tranny problems occurred in the 98-02 V6 and some I4 models, and a few of the V6 tranny problems carried on into the 03-05 V6's.

You can always double check by calling the dealer and giving them your VIN.

good suggestion on the dealer call.. I noticed consumer reports showed 03-present had excellant ratings on the tranny's... until you dig deeper and find the V6 accords 01 thru 03 were in the black.... I knew of the tranny issues before purchase, but was suprised to see the problem doesn't not appear to be affected by the 4cyl.. I assume it was slightly diff. tranny design to hold up to the increased torque in the V6's..

2003 was the first year for the K-series 4-cylinder engine. With the engine on the opposite end of the engine bay (vs. 98-02) that's a completely new tranny. It may as well be a completely different car, for all the differences.

No. It's a COMPLETELY TOTALLY different tranny.
