Default 2004-White crank **** under steering wheel

Hi!

Gotta question. I have a 2004 Honda Accord and I bought it without the owners manual so I find places like this awesome. Today I was turning off my Maint Required light after it didn't reset after my last oil change. I have a leaky seal in my gas cap so my check engine light is constantly on (so annoying). After taking the advice of another person, I went under the steering wheel to pop out the clock fuse. When I was down there (head under the steering wheel by the gas pedals, face up) I looked up and there was a white ****. We'll being curious I turned it and it started making a cranking noise (think the the noise that the timed heat light makes in a hotel bathroom). Well, I jump back, hit my head and waited for my car to explode. Nothing happened. What the heck is that thing for???

Moved this as it turns into more of a question for gen tech area.

Can't answer the **** question but you can go to Honda's web site and download an owners manual......
