2005 Accord EX MT ... rear brake rotor service
Hi,
It's definitely time for me to replace the rear brake rotors and pads on my EX MT. I've already replaced the fronts on these cars before, as well as other cars. I have never had to replace rear rotors before.
Couple friends of mine have said I should be careful doing the rear rotors because my e-brake line and assembly could screw me up. And I'm wondering... what exactly they are referring to? What might I run into that would be different than replacing the front rotors and pads? Any tips or direction from anyone seasoned in replacing rotors on this or other manual transmission cars like this would be appreciated before I go tearing into this a couple weekends from now.
Thanks,
bk

Personally not sure what the concern is? Yes on this gen (4 or 6?) the e-brake is part of the caliper, so that means you have to "screw" the caliper piston back in.....ok that can be a pain....but besides that....?

Problems have occurred when someone is unaware of the handbrake mechanism; if you try to compress the caliper piston by using a C-clamp you can damage the mechanism inside the caliper. That's the only thing I'm aware of. Twist the piston while pushing to retract it. Watch the rubber dust-boot so it doesn't wrinkle & tear.
