Ok. My factory single climate control single cd stereo crapped out. My questions are….
- can I replace it with a dual zone without any wire modifications

I bought a used dual zone 6 cd. On the back it has 2 female connectors where my original one had 1. I hooked it up. Radio works but I’m only getting air blowing and nothing else works. My questions is…
- is this because I only connected the one plug?
- or is this because the ckimate buttons are screwed up and don’t work?
- is there an adaptor that can plug into my single wire harness and splits it into two so I can use the dual zone radio I just got?

The dual zone climate control has a different heater unit, so the dual zone climate control won't work. If you can, transfer the new radio to the old hvac controls and you should be good.

 

how dies one do that? I dont know what you mean.

also…. I picked up a single climate control radio. The screen comes on…. But it’s not illuminated and there is zero sound. When I do the 1-6 and power button a DIOG shows. I shut it off and turn back on and the screen works like before with no illumination and still no sound.

 

I might be missing something obvious. Can you post a pic of the front and back of the old and dual-zone radios?

 

the single climate radio has 2 female connectors. My car has 2 female connectors plus antenna. The dual stereo has 3 female connectors and antenna.



you can one has 1 green connector and the other has 2. The 2 ( a third blue one not shown ) makes 3 fir the dual zone radio.
