2005 HAH - attach curved rubber trim strip to fender?
Please see attached picture. Right front passenger fender has curved rubber trim strip immediately above wheels. It is coming off. Has been for a long time. Any suggestion how to reattach? Two part epoxy is all that comes to mind. The strip does not curve around edge of fender. Just sits on top of fender edge. Thanks

Usually, automotive mounting tape is used. 3M makes various types. Their VHB brand of tape usually is thinner and stronger than most general mounting tape.
Surfaces has to be thoroughly cleaned before mounting.

You might even want to ask a body shop. Decades ago when I was a teenager, I went to a family friend's body shop, they reattached trim in less than a minute with mounting tape and didn't charge me. The material they had was in bulk and wouldn't actually cost that much. The mounting tape is almost paper thin.
But, even if you purchase mounting tape yourself, it isn't usually expensive either.

Thanks. I was not aware of automotive mounting tape. I'll try it, after cleaning the surface. It's maybe a little tricky because the trip strip curves. But I'm sure I'll figure out something. I have some other sticky double-sided tape sitting around, and will try that first before buying anything else. I'll try posting results later in the week. BTW, the strip is 5/16" wide. Thanks again.

Some of the mounting tape out there is ultra-thin (both in width and thickness) and can conform to curves. Plus, some are so strong that they are considered for permanent mounting.
They are more of an adhesive that is not in liquid form; but, flexible and that you apply like a double side tape. They have paper backing on both sides of the adhesive that is removed.

The tape worked perfectly. Thanks!!!
Long-winded description in case anybody interested: Found some clear double-sided tape sitting around. About 1/2 inch wide. Paper backing on one side. Cleaned fender with rubbing alcohol. Cleaned back of rubber trim strip. Let everything dry. Tested tape by applying a little to fender and back of strip. Tape seems to adhere very strongly. Applied segments of tape to back of rubber trim strip. Trimmed with single-sided razor blade. Peeled off paper backing. Carefully pushed rubber strip to fender. Once positioned, pushed down hard to secure. Seems very solid. Looks 100% better.
