2005 Honda Accord LX doesn't respond/start at all
Hi Everyone,
Today morning when I was ready to go for work,
1) key remote was not responding. I thought it will be a key problem so I opened up
the car using key manaully.
2) Then I tried starting the car, but it is full dead. No ignition sound at all.
3) Then I got my friend to help it jumpstart, no result. no response at all.
Now tomorrow I will ask AAA to tow it to the Honda service centre.
Can you guys suggest what can be the problem.
It is just 2 yrs 9 months old and only 20 k miles on it. It was driving without problems
till yesterday..
Please suggest something.
Thanks,
Pi

It sounds like the battery completely died. I've had a similar problem before. For kicks and giggles, let the jumper car charge your battery for ~5 mins before attempting to start it.

Hi Finch,
Can you please tell me how can a battery which was running so beautifully, gave no signals of any dying
before died fully?
I think though the car has automatic headlight turn off system, is it possible that when bad
and it drained out the full battery?
Thanks,
Pi

Batterys can just fail out of nowhere. Each battery cell has both lead metal and lead oxide. When charging the battery, the current converts lead oxide to lead.
If a certain part the of the lead matrix breaks down, you have a dead cell ie. dead battery.
You should check that all of the battery cable ends are clean and secure. If they somehow are not making proper contact, then there is nowhere for the current to flow and it would appear like the battery died.

True. Also if you tried jumping the car then there should have been a direct connection between the charged battery and your car meaning power, but since nothing happened it sounds like a wiring problem.

Update:
so AAA was able to jumpstart the car(looks like needed a powerful battery).
The reason why my car battery discharged was I had left the "warning" lights ON.
So the headlights get turned off automatically after we lock the car but not the "warning" lights.
Also since my car was under warranty Honda replaced the battery free.
