Default 2005 V6 and Transmission

What needs to be removed to access Bank 1 coils/plugs?

What is the dealer recommended auto transmission service interval?
I note no filter.

Thanks for the response. I did find a reference stating that the filter was not servicable and no aftermarket filter/gasket is available. Means that the only way to clear fine steel/friction material is periodic drains. 30k miles for me.

Sorry about the last post not sure what happened.
Your transmission does have a filter but it is not really a part you service. Click the link... the filter is #7.

I change my fluid every 10k. Honda recommends that you do it every 30k but most people say you should service your transmission every 15k.

Honda does not reccomend flushing the transmission.. all they reccomend is that you do a drain and refill at the required maintanace schedule ,it used to be 15k miles, but now they say that you can wait longer,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,For as critical as sensitive trannies are internally with all the valves, i would invest the 30 dollars and replace tranny fluid still every 15k or once a year ...make sure to use only Honda ATF-Z1 (quote from deserthonda) Make sure you replace the crush washer every time to prevent leaks.

As for the first question, do you mean how do you remove the plastic covers to expose the coils & plugs?

This was pulled from the Drive Accord forum.

I was doing some work under the hood the other day and decided to take off the engine cover to see how the engine looked without it. It's very easy. 2 plastic screws and 1 clip at the bottom. The support bracket comes off by removing 2 bolts and unclipping the plastic wiring protector at 2 places.

Thanks, I'll do the 30k first time and judge by color and particles.
Only way to do it right isa test lab sample.
Z1 is the only Honda authorized. AMSOL says their synthetic is good for Honda but that isn't Honda.
Accord likely has a plastic shield over the engine.
I purchased the Honda manuals from a dealer for the Accord and V6. At $135 deliveredthey wereless costthan I found on common websites.

Tested Z1 in tranny dip stick to container Z1 for color on white paper towel.
Object is to compare bright new to in tranny.
At 26k significant color difference but not abnormal.
I would have drained at 20k without reference to Honda Severe 60k recommendation.
That interval is way too long.
Significant amount of magneticdebris on drain plug magnet.
Other:
Both drain and fill plugs much over torque value by Honda during build.
Bang releases. Used my foot to break the drain.
Lowered car to drain balance of fluid.Half pintand worthwhile.
Best price I found for Z1 was CarQuest at $7/qt. Shipping has gone out of sight online. Purchased a case.
Specify engine to dealer for crush washers.
I didn't say and he assumed 4 cyl. Won't work 6.Used a little blue RTV and reused old crush washers.
Next service is +10k miles.
Shifts are better than before and before were very good.

Hondas recomendation is much higher than that. 90k if i remember right. If it was mine it would be changed every 30k.

Normal is 120k and every 90k after that.
Severe is 60k and every 30k after that.
05/V6
Would be interesting information if Honda were to state the basis for their recommendation.
I have an 05 Sable LS, AX4N atuomatic with service recommendation every 30k miles.
Service means drop the pan, clean, clean the magnet, change the filter and add fluid.
At 25k the fluid is significantly darker than the Accord.
Will be done shortly and I will add several magnets internally to the one Ford provided, and use a synblend.
Effective way to reduce steel/friction debris.
Every 20k my Sable service interval.
