2006 Accord EX 2.4 oil leak
Replaced the common oil seal on the VTC solenoid but still have a leak? Replaced oil sender switch on engine block, also the switch and gasket on the VTC solenoid? Still have oil weeping down the bottom of the VTC Solenoid onto the oil sender and oil filter. Could the solenoid body be cracked? Any ideas on what else or where else it could be leaking?

I guess I would clean it up real good and then watch for it to start leaking. You can change a lot of random parts without really knowing where the leak is.
Try getting some fluorescent dye for the oil then UV light or something to really see the location of the leak.

Vtec solenoid oil leak fixed
Found that the Oring under the VTEC electrical solenoid 2 Torx screws in housing, was hard as a rock removed and it broke to into pieces. Replaced with new and oil leak no more. I understand why Honda recommends replacing the whole unit on high mileage vehicles.

Hey, Boxster (Or anyone else who knows) are these the E-TORX fasteners? (External Star Socket) - E4 ex. The one some European cars use
I assumed Honda did this as a signal for 'Do not remove' but it is safe to remove and replace this seal? I believe my leak may be from the same place.
Thank you,

High mileage 2.4 liter engines most common leaks are from that VVT Solenoid, that sensor unit you ask about can be removed and the seal or gasket can be replaced. My finding after removing it a couple of times was replace the VVT Solenoid assembly and the oil pressure switch at the same time. Oil leaks solved.

Thank you, Boxster. I just ordered a set of ETorx sockets (I believe they are E8 fasteners) and will give replacing the o-ring a chance.
I have replaced the oil pressure sensor o-ring and the gasket that mates to the head (actually replaced this gasket twice) Hopefully this will fix the leak I'm tired of wiping oil off the underside of my car.
V/r,
Jay
