2006 Accord rear brake pad replacement
How do you compress the rear calipers when you replace the pads? I tried to compress it with a C clamp but it didn't seem to move and I didn't want to force it. The parking brake was off. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

When lacking the proper tool, you can use a LARGE slotted screwdriver to rotate the piston while gently pressing to retract the piston. I don't know why, but I can't remember which direction it rotates I've done dozens of brake jobs with these calipers and I think it turns clockwise. It will prolly be a little hard to turn at first but it should get eaiser. If you applied too much force with the clamp you may have jammed the p-brake adjuster. If the boot starts to twist with the piston, change direction slightly until it unbinds. When it is fully retracted you want the pin on the inboard pad to be able to go into one of the notches in the piston. If you don't line up the pin with the notch your pads will wear unevenly. good luck
