There are two pads on each side (inner/outer). Yes, you can change just the rear pads, but you have to do both sides (driver/passenger).

Okay, yes, that's what I meant. The shop changed all the pads for the rear brakes. I guess it sounded like I meant that only two pads were changed, but that is incorrect. All four rear pads were changed.

Good. You don't have to do the front if they're still good, but you have to do all 4 pads on the same axle. You don't want left-rear brakes to be different from right-rear.
