2006 Accord V6 AT ?
Hello all,
I just did the first fluid change for the first time. 69k miles. ( I was always told to do at 60k - is that right? ) I plan to do three.
I measured what came out on the first change and it was just over 2.5 quarts. (is that normal?)
Also, there was a bit of sludge and what looked to be microscopic metal shavings caked up on the end of the plug when I pulled it off. (Is that somewhat normal?)
any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

A bit of that sludge stuff on the magnet is sorta normal. The 2.5 qt is about right, from what I remember from a 4-cyl automatic I used to own. The torque converter doesn't drain, so you can only drain about 1/3 of the total fluid. That's the reason for 3x drain & fill. If the fluid came out pretty clean, you can think about maybe just changing it 1x but more often, like 30k or 40k miles.
