Default 2006 Honda Accord - engine light on - thermostat?

Hi
My engine light has been on for some time now. I am due to get my registration sticker also so I took my Honda to get an oil change and had the guy check the light.

He came to me and said that it was pointing to the thermostat and had the car been overheating?
The car has never run hot, although I live in the Boston area and it's been stupid cold the last month or so.

Anyway, he reset the light and it was off for about 36 hours. I drove the car quite in bit in those 36 hours but then the light came back on again.

The car is not running hot at all and seems fine as I drive it. What can I do? Could it be a bad sensor? The car only has 78,000 miles on it.

I don't think I will be able to get a new sticker with the engine light on.

Help anyone?!?!?

Go to Autozone, etc. and get the trouble code read for free, then post the actual trouble code number.

Autozone gave me the code P0128 - antifreeze level is fine.

They suggest replacing the thermostat with SKU # 55470 - they were out of stock so I figured I'd post here first to get thoughts.....thanks!

If coolant level is fine, P0128 is usually due to the thermostat being faulty.

The part number and price you list is for a Duralast part. $49 is the Duralast list price.

I actually would recommend getting the OEM thermostat for a little more.
