Default 2006 Honda Accord Heater - Driver side not working

I have a 2006 Honda Accord, I am not getting hot air on the driver side. Its blowing air but its cold (as outside) the passenger side gives hot air. the two middle vents, one gives cold and the other hot, but not as hot as the passenger side. I took it two times to the mechanic but nothing. I flushed the coolant and changed the thermostat, it increased the heat on the passenger side, but nothing on the driver side. (the passenger side gave only warm air before i took it to the mechanics). Now the mechanic tells me that he needs to take out the interior board and check the hoses, he think that one is disconnected or a problem with the mixer or something. I'm not sure if i should do that? Any recommendations? Some people on this forum say it could be the heater core? Please help me, i drive long distances and its freezing here.

See post #6 in this thread to get your trouble code.

For your car, I suspect a problem with one of the motors in the HVAC. Post the code, and we can work from there.

It can also be due to a clogged heater core. If it is a clogged heater core, can either replace or try to flush it out first.

Thank you, I tried flushing it out, it only improved made it little bit hotter, but no major change on the driver side.

Audio-HVAC just means the integrated radio/cd - heating, ventilation air conditioning unit. There are printed circuit boards (pcb) as part of the unit. If it is a simple display, the code should show up on the radio display screen.

Edit: I will double-check, as I may be mixing up the 7th generation and 8th generation Accord trouble code retrieval. For the 8th gen accord, the code shows up on the radio display screen.

OK, I just checked for the 8th gen Accords (2008-2012), the light on the recirculation button will blink the code if there is a trouble code, after the procedure is performed. For models with the temperature display, the code will show there. Edit: To clarify, for models without the temperature display, the light will blink a number of times, so you have to count the number of blinks (e.g., 1 blink = code 1, 2 blinks = code 2, etc.). For models with a temp. display, it shows an actual number instead of the blinks.

That may also be the case with your 7th gen Accord (2003-2007).
