Default 2007 new key programming

Just picked up a new to me 2007 Accord LX sedan. It came with one key/ fob. I have already purchased a new key. I have to get it cut and programmed. My local Honda dealer says it is $130 just to program. Can I program it myself? Does anyone have a link or procedure? I scoured the DIY section already. TIA

Either dealership or local auto locksmith. You can only program them fob buttons not the key

That's because the key has to be programed to the ECU. Doesn't matter if it's 1 key or more. We bought a new key from the dealer, and they programed it and the original key to the car (the ECU), as it's part of the immobilizer.

I do not know if this actually works, but it appears you can buy a key programmer for much less than what the dealer wants for programming

One example:
(Ship from US) EasyKeyMaker Honda Key Programmer Supports Honda/Acura 1999-2022 Including All Keys Lost registering key by OBDII Reviews
Instruction manual at http://www.carkeysale.com/upload/pro/user-manual.rar

Another example:
V46.02 Lastest Version SBB Key Programmer support Multi-language can replace CK-100

Once again - I have no direct experience at this.
At the same time I think these might be worth a try at the price.

I had not issues with a key I had programmed recently. Just found a place that specializes in automotive locks, since I live in a big city.
