Default 2008 Accord EX-L (v6) DIY maint.

Was wondering if I could get some help on these items below?

1. Where can I find the front bumper hole plugs? The dealer put hold in the front bumper for the license place!

2. I like to change my own oil, but I'll be darn if I can find the oil filter from the top of the engine like her older Avalon XLS had! Where is this thing and how hard is it to change the oil on this car?

3. Had anyone programmed the door locks to unlock when you put the car in park? They lock when in drive, but not when placed in park. My 4Runner is setup this way and I was hoping we could do this on the Accord.

Thank you!

Rick

This belongs in General Tech, so I'll move it.

This doesn't really help much, but it looks like the oil filter is over towards the right-side of the car. Look in & around the accessory drive belts - but back more towards the firewall?

I'll check it out. I'm not used to a car bring so low to the ground. This Honda is lower to the ground than my wife's '98 Avalon XLS. Guess I'm usd to my 4Runner and not having to jack it up when changing the oil! The filter is on top of the engine too, so that makes it very easy!

No hole plugs for the front bumper. Does your state require a front plate?

Maybe you should look in the owners manual in the power door locks section for the steps to program the door locks. There is also a "quick start" book the comes with the car that includes the steps. It is a colorful little wire ring book about 10 pages of laminated paper.

The filter is right inside the RF tire not at all hard to get at.

No, we don't need front plates. I was too late and they put the plate on, now I have the holes... I read online that you could buy plugs from the local hardware store or even online at some places if you're willing to buy them at $20-30. That's crazy for something so small.

I'll check out that owners manual and quick ref. We just got the car and have a 12 week old girl (our first) so sometimes it's a little crazy and limited time on hands.

Thank you to all that replied.

R.
