Default 2008 Accord - is rear defroster in the glass or on top (Tint Removal Question)

Need to remove some aftermarket tint from the rear window (used purchase) to pass inspection. Is the rear defroster embedded in the glass or painted on old-school?

I need to know the limits - i.e. is a razor scrapper OK ? If there are other tint removal ideas, fire away. Doing the front windows with a scraper wasn't fun.

You can damage the rear defroster if you scrap.

What was your source for the steam? Wall paper steamer? Or is there something else to use?

It was my parent's garment steamer. One of those tire cleaner steamers would probably work well.

Just start by heating up the top of the tint, then peel the tint a bit. Keep steaming between the tint and glass and slowly pull until you feel resistance. Then keep repeating the process over. Try not to burn yourself with the steam (guess how I know!).
