2010 Transmission Slip After DW1 Change
My 4 cyc 2010 Accord with 60,000m has transmission slip problems after 2 drain and fills with the new DW-1 transmission fluid. Only slips when taking hard left or when turning left after going up a hill. I already added some fluid and it is slightly over the upper fill mark. This helped some. Seems like the DW-1 viscosity is lower and the fluid is not getting to pump inlet tube like the original fluid. Any advice is appreciated.

First of all it is OK to over fill an automatic Honda of your generation, unlike a manual (a little too much ATF should leak out the ATF dip stick seal when the engine is hot). Secondly, did you use Genuine Honda ATF-DW-1, if not the do so. Third, has it had any other work done on it before or around the time that the problem started.
Weather factor - did it rain after each fluid change or is there sand on the road? Your car should have a traction control system which may be fooling you. Just some thoughts to start with...

Used DW-1 from dealer for last 2 drain and fills. Did not notice slipping condition after first drain and fill. Transmission is definitely the slipping/whining noise. It sure seems like the centrifugal force is pushing the fluid away from the pump inlet for a moment and starving it. Never have a problem with hard right turns on a hill, only left turns. Fluid is currently a couple mm above the Hot mark on the dip stick. I will keep adding a little more at a time to see if the problem goes away before I reach the relief vent. Thanks for your help.

Using GM Synchromesh (or Pennzoil Synchromesh) is for manual-transmission Hondas. I WOULD NOT use that in an automatic transmission.
That synchromesh fluid is pretty similar to Honda MTF. Be careful because most of this thread is talking about automatic transmissions.
