2012 Accord - license plate bolts/screws?
I purchased a 2012 accord sedan last night. I need to put my license plates on and I can't tell if the holes are metal with fine threads or they are plastic and you just turn any screw into them or what.
Of course I have the dealer advertising license plate frames which have a big coarse threaded bolt head screw but it doesn't look "correct" although I'm sure it would work.
Hopefully someone knows the proper length bolt or screw to use? And the threads - metric, fine/coarse, etc. or maybe it doesn't matter?
Thanks,
Paul

This is for the 2011 accord, because the 2012 parts list is not up on the OEM parts web site.
The part for the license plate screw is #43 for the rear license plate. It looks like a coarse threaded screw.
43 93913-25320 SCREW, TAPPING (5X4) (PO) USA 2 $0.45 $0.33

There are four license plate holes, but they say only two screws?
These would be the screws that hold the license plate on, correct?
Do you know if 5x4 is metric or usa?
I want to get stainless steel ones from the hardware store.
Sorry for being a pain and I really appreciate your help!
Thanks,
Paul

I found that Majestic Honda has the 2012 parts website.
The OEM part number for the screw is:
93913-25320
It costs about $0.50, so you might want to buy one screw from the dealership to have the exact screw when you go to the hardware store.

IIRC the bolts for the rear license plate are M6 - 1.0 x 20mm. You can pick them up at any hardware store or auto parts place. You only need the top two to hold the plate on.
The front screws are different.

The M6 - 1.0 x 20mm worked great for the rear and they look great in stainless steel. The open holes at the bottom of the plate bug me, so I'll have to do something about them.
The front do appear to be screws, they screw into a soft plastic frame.
Thanks,
Paul
