Default 2013 Accord FCW

I have a 2013 Accord EX-L. I have a question about the FCW. I was on interstate and came up behind a 18 wheeler, within 15 feet of trailer and the FCW did not flash or beep. I had not applied brakes and was going 70 MPH.
Should the warning have activated? The only time the FCW has activated was when a car was stopped at stop sign and I got within 5 feet of car without applying brakes. Is this the way this FCW is supposed to work?

You can set Long, Normal, or Short for when the warning starts. See links and attached pics from owner's manual. It may be set to short right now.

I tried all three settings, but the warning would not go off. The only way I get the warning is if I come up behind a stopped vehicle at a red light. I had the dealership check it and was told that this is the way it works. But it doesn't work.

Ask the dealership to go with you on a test drive in another 2013 Accord to see if there was a difference in comparison to yours.

based on your symptom, it sounds like the dealer will have to perform the camera aiming procedure, the o.e. also has a laundry list of trouble codes that could be associated with the system, never worked on one, so i don't even know if there is a light on the dash to indicate a problem or not.

I did take it back to dealer, they checked it out and I was told that it was set up corrrect and that was how it worked. I was just trying to find out if others worked the same way or if maybe mine is not set correct.

All this new crap tec-no bull get's on my nerves..why can't people just continue to drive the old way, no texting, phone calling, baking a pizza in the back seat while they're driving..

Enuff said by me..sorry if I ***** off anyone but it's high time we go back to driving our cars instead of playing with the new gagets these automotive engineers put in our cars to distract us from driving THE CAR.
