Question for you. I picked up the same car two hours ago and my issue with the remote start is (unless they gave me the wrong info). After starting the engine remotely once you open the door with having the transponder the engine shuts off HUH. you have the transponder the car knows it you why the heck do you have to restart it. Can you let me know if this is how your system operates to?

Yes, that's what happens-it is VERY poorly designed and implemented -very disapointing

Yes. Also, if you remote start the other fobs don't unlock the doors. Also, if you remote start the button on the trunk won't let you in. Also if your doors are unlocked and you try to start, you get a failure message, instead of the vehicle locking it for you then starting. There are more too, just keep experimenting with it. Its rubbish.

It is as pointed out a very bad design by Honda. The way around it is an after-market, such as Viper. That problem doesn't occur but a good system is not cheap either. I am planning to wait until early fall with the hope that the transponder work around will have been solved by then.

Default Remote Starter

I just the remote starter installed in a 2013 Accord _ I was told by the dealer that I could open the doors and still have the car running using remote starter - well that is not the case - the car turns off when you unlock it - whether using the lock button or keyless entry - I had asked them twice to make sure that is not the case - going to ask for a refund

Default looking for programing instructions for new remore fob

Just got a 2014 Touring and had the remote starter installed. It only came with one fob so I ordered a additional one but they want $60 to program it. Surely it must be a easy task . Anyone has instructions? This is the key less touring model

The dealer has to program it with HDS (Honda Diagnostic System).

Good luck with that. I tried returning the remote starter last year, two individuals at the dealer (not sales people) where going to "look into it" and get back with me... neither one of them did. Needless to say, my next car is going to be a Toyota (plan on selling the Accord and getting a Toyota within the next 2 years). The Accord (2013) itself is nice, but the way I've been treated after the sale leaves a lot to be desired.
The sad part was the aftermarket remote starter I had bought back in 2003 for my old Accord was far better than the one Honda sold me for my 2013 Accord (and cost half of the Honda sold me)

The remote system is something that I have grown accustomed to. With my last vehicle (a Dodge) it was built into the FOB. Thoroughly disappointed with Honda's design, which is why I opted out. Hopefully they'll come out with a third generation system that has everything integrated.
