Question 3k RPM Idle on 1989 Accord B20A

Hello all, I've got myself an '89 Accord with a JDM B20A and for the last three months of ownership on cold starts the idle would surge from 800 to ~1200 until the engine came up to operating temperature. Yesterday I went and unplugged and removed the MAP sensor and cleaned it, and then tried to clean the FITV as well but one of the screws on the top plate stripped. Eventually got it off with some pliers and tried to follow what most forums and videos I've seen do, and unscrew/adjust the spring within the FITV and now when I start the car it immediately revs @ 3,200 RPM and after about a minute climbs to 4,000 RPM. With the plate off and covering the plunger/spring inside with my thumb the idle drops down to ~2k RPM. Not sure what the problem is anymore, I'd guess a vacuum leak or the valve is shot and needs replacing?

This is the valve on my B20A, and I've looked around online and haven't found one for sale anywhere. It being a JDM engine I don't know if I'd find one off a junkyard Honda in my area (southeast USA). Any advice on what to do next or how to source this part? All help is appreciated.

You likely created a vacuum leak. Did you remove just the top cover, or did you remove the entire valve from the intake?

I tried to only remove the top cover but then the bolt stripped, so then I took the entire valve off from the intake (probably not the best idea) and tried to clean the inside of it, then took pliers to the bolt and gently unscrewed it . Adjusting the piece underneath the plate didn't change the idle at all after I put it back together.
