6th gen?
i bought an 01 accord recently and i just noticed that the space between the left rear wheelwell and tire is like an inch less than the one on the right. i checked for a broken spring but didn't see anything broken. i then looked at my moms 07 accord and its the same. is this normal?

yeah. i triple checked it on all kinds of surface, including my garage which is flat. what could it be worn/broken spring? bent control arm?

Another thing to check... Is there a similar difference between the front wheels?
Generally the roll-stiffness of the front end is greater than that on the rear. Certainly that's the case for stock suspension. So the front wheels have a "stronger" ability to control how the car leans. So a weak spring in the front is more able to make the car lean to one side. You can prove or rule-out weak springs by measuring corner-weights.
If the garage floor is truly flat (got a surveyor's transit?) then what you see at the rear might mean the structure of the car body has a twist in it. Don't panic, that's more common that you might think. But really I'm more skeptical about the floor being flat.
