7th gen need new bumper. what to do?
Ok so I have 2004 accord and the front bumper is all messed up from hitting things ( I didn't do it. I was given the car). I figured since I didn't have to pay for the car I should buy new bumpers. I am not sure as to how I should do it. I have seen on eBay bumpers where they ship them painted and all you have to do is install it. Or on eBay I could buy an unpainted one and have it painted locally. I just want some suggestions maybe if you've done this or heard about it. I could put up links for the eBay stuff if anyone wants. Thanks.

There was a recent post on same subject. Try searching for thread. I recollect the consensus was to buy a used bumper cover and repaint as necessary.
Depending on how badly yours is damaged it might be possible to repair and repaint.
good luck

The cheapest option may me buying a bumper with the same color at a junkyard. Then you would have to ubolt the old one and bolt on the new one. Check out car-part.com to search local junkyards. You can sort by price or distance, so you might find a reasonbly priced bumper.

oh_for_Accord,
You have many routes that you could go down in addressing the front bumper replacement for your 2004 Accord.
If you would like to opt for the most frugal of solutions, then PAHonda is right on the money (pun firmly intended). Local salvage yards are likely to stock front bumpers for a vehicle as commonplace as a Honda Accord. And since these cars are so common, the bumpers are likely priced accordingly (read: cheap).
As for the eBay bumpers, finding a solid and reputable product largely boils down to the legitimacy/credibility of the individual seller. Indeed there are great deals to be had on a multitude of car parts on this site, but there's also a chance that you'll have the misfortune of purchasing parts from an unscrupulous seller. Generally speaking, I've seen an equal amount of either scenario happen to various friends and family members who have used eBay to buy car parts.
Do your homework on the seller's reputation and track record before you pull the trigger on any parts purchases.
Alternatively, you could put aside the aforementioned concerns about being scammed by buying a new OEM replacement bumper from a host of reputable Honda parts sites. This peace of mind comes at a cost, as in the front bumper replacement will be more expensive than after market units you will find on eBay, but at least you know that there won't be any issues regarding the fit of the bumper.
For example, Honda parts websites sells the OEM front bumper for $208, which may not be as cheap as the eBay replacements but if it were my hard-earned money that I was spending on a bumper replacement then I'd consider the tried-and-true quality of the OEM unit to be worth the extra cash it commands over after market products.
Finally, you could procure the replacement bumper from your local Honda dealership. This will be the most expensive of all options and I would advise against it simply because there are so many other viable solutions at your fingertips when it comes to replacing the front bumper in an economically sound manner. But hey- if you'd rather not wait for a new bumper to ship to your house then this option may suit your needs
Regardless of which route you choose, I hope things work out for you!

Thanks everyone. I think I'm going to try the junk yard first, see where that gets me. Then try Honda parts now. As a follow up question, I don't know if there is a post about this, but does anyone know if the 06 bumper with fog light cut outs will fit an 04?
