I did do a compression test with the new belt. Everything was in spec. Took three reading on each cylinder

I did have a random question as well. As I rotate the motor looking at the flywheel via port hole I have two sets of timing marks. Now every time I have timed the motor I have set it with the single notch the the t symbol but my flywheel also has a set that is three notches and the number 16 under the three notches. Any idea on what thst set of notchs is for?

T is for Top Dead Center.

The other marks are for spark timing. The spark is fired at 15 +/- 2 degrees before TDC. So the three marks you see are 13, 15, and 17 degrees before TDC.

What compression readings did you get?

The compression test
#1 188,190,189
#2 190,190,189
#3 188,190,189
#4 190,190,189

I believe that should all be within spec

Like the first time I got it all set perfect got the motor to run checked it and the camshaft was off by 180°
This can't be right. When you check the marks, are you just aligning the crank to TDC? The crankshaft turns two times for every turn of the camshaft, so this could be your problem when checking the marks.

Do you have a timing light?

I don't have a timing light. I can get one from a friend. But I was able to get everything running good. What had happened was I was one tooth off with the distributor. But now just dealing with having to put the fuel pump on a toggle switch to make my pump work. And also to figure out when it is running and I lightly press the gas it starts to choke out. But if I feather it first and open it wide open it has lots of power.
I just feel like I fix one this then another thing gets messed up on this thing.

Get the timing light and check the timing. Also, can't remember, make sure the tune up stuff is up to date.......glad you are back on the road

Yeah all tune up stuff is good. Like I said in post one I did the full tune up 4000 miles ago. But its running have not road tested it yet due to the fact it only runs for about five minutes before cutting out. And when you press the gas it bogs down to the point it dies. So I have to figure that one out now.
