Default 86 Honda Accord LXI cranks but won't start

I have a 86 Accord. It's been having issues over the years with the fuel injection. Lately it has dropped on cylinder after another and we have had to wire it to the next to keep the engine running. Now it's completely dead and won't start up. The alternator is bad in it but that's not the problem. The fuel pump works great, there is spark in the engine but for some reason we can not get the fuel injectors to fire. They are clean and should fire but somewhere it's not relaying the message. We have taken apart almost everything we could think of. If we take a wire from the positive on the battery and put it on each injector it will fire it once so we know its not getting the message to fire from somewhere. We think that it may be the fuel injector resistor. Any ideas?

The injectors have two pins.

When the key is turned to the II position, all 4 injectors will have 12V on one pin (they should all have the same wire color). Unplug an injector and see if you have 12V by touching one volt meter lead to the pin and the other to a bolt on the valve cover.

The injector is opened when the ECU grounds the second pin.

Figure out which side of the circuit is giving you problems.

its the second part. We are getting an ECU tomorrow to replace it and hope that works. Would the alternator being bad have anything to do with it? Just wondering we know that's not working at the moment either
