Default 87 honda accord firing on 2 cylinders

i have a 87 honda accord lxi so its fuel injected and i put a new head on it because it had a cracked head, the head i pput on it is exactly the same as the old one, i have all the timng perfect and have checked just about everything but pistons 1 and 4 arent firing for some reason, (although we are diesel mechanics) ive had several mechanics look at it and none of us can figure it out, it runs fine on just 2 and 3 but i cant get it to idle worth a s**t, i have been working on this damn thing for 3 days strait and am getting very frusterated. has anyone else had this problem? i need some serious help? Any ideas will help. much appritiated.

How are you verifying that cylinders 1 and 4 are not firing?

Hook a timing light up to one spark plug wire at a time. See if enough spark is generated on each wire to flash the timing light.

While at it, check for voltage to the injectors.
