Unhappy 89 Accord-major problem

Im new to Hondas, i recently picked up an 89 Accord coupe with an A20 fi 5 speed almost for free, the only problem is is the engine was torn apart. the cam was taken out n the gear off of it. The rocker arm assembly is bolted on n is all there, i have no idea what stroke the motors on. How do i go about putting this back together? haha please help me

First thing you have to ask is "why" was it this way??? broke tb and bent valves, started to replace head gasket and threw in the towel????

If the cam is out, shouldn't be worried about setting the crank to TDC and messing up valves....there is a "window" where the trans mates to the engine that will have a "marker" on the flywheel...BTW-auto or manual, either way the marker is there.

Then with the cam back in and cam gear on....install with the "up" mark,,,well up.

We can worry about the cap and rotor later, first need to figure out what shape the head is in?
