91 Accord runs hot
Hi all, my 91 accord runs hot. When starting from a cold engine, the temp gage starts to rise and will get to mid way before I can get to the end of the block.
It will stay there for a while , then will creep up to the high end of the scale, almost to the gage maximim, but not quite. I have replaced the thermostat and vented the system as required. I have also checked the radiator. It is clean and flowing good. Any one expereince anything like this before and have any suggestions? The cooling fans (both) come on, but do not run very long (10-15 seconds). Any suggestions will help, I am not much into Honda's. Thanks.

The gauge in the car is run by the temperature sending unit.
It is one of the three sensors that is on the passenger side of the block sort of under the distributor. It will be the only sensor that has one wire going to it. Unplug that sensor and see if the needle stays at cold when you start the car.
