Default 92 accord charging

ok so here is the deal, i have a 92 Accord LX 4dr. my power steering pump was leaking onto my alt, and i blew my main fuse. when i replaced the fuse, the alt lit on fire a little and then quit. The next day my batt was dead, and i mean dead. It read 10.3V. I replaced the battery with a spare i had lying around and within a day, same thing. I decide to buy an new alt, as the battery is reading 11.2 at 1k. when putting the new alt in, i noticed the 4 wires to the green alt connector are fried as well as the boot on the ground wire, so i cut out the bad sections of the wires and solder new ones in, heat shrink it and tape it all up. I also replaced the alt belt and guess what? once again at 1k i read 11.68 and like 11.4 at 2k. What the hell is going on?[/align]

try cleaning your battery terminals and double-checking all connections on the wires between the alt and the battery.

Clean all your grounds. Check your alternator belt also.
