92 accord ex best engine

You are asking a pretty vague question. What are you trying to accomplish with upgrades? You may see slight gains with modifications to your current engine, and they are not worth the effort and $ in my opinion.

Actually you can have all 3 with a K-20 or K-24 swap. But, you'd need to swap the trans for a 5 or 6 speed.

In reality you can't go wrong with a K swap. If you can find a K20a2 from an Acura or 7th gen Accord, they make about 200hp stock (some more, some less). There's also nice aftermarket support for them. My son picked up an Acura RSX-S for $1100 off of Craigslist. He's doing the swap on his 98 Civic. He bought the car as a parts donor for his swap. Yes, he still needs to buy some stuff for his swap, but he figures he's already saved 2 grand on doing his swap already, between the cost of the engine and trans alone.

Be aware there's an awful lot of little stuff for a K swap. The engine is in the opposite side of the engine bay, complications with engine mounts, etc...
Buying an entire donor car makes it a bigger project than some people want to sign up for. Maybe Toecutter's son's experience will be good to know about.

The H22 swap from the 90's preludes has also been done on the 90's accords. There is a lot of information on the web about the swap. I even think the motor mounts are the same between the H22 and the 90-93 accord which makes the swap easier.
