'93 Accord LX - speedo was very jumpy (would show 40MPH in reverse, sometimes 0 on HWY). D4 light starting flashing (4 blinks) and some odd downshifting would happen.
Cruise control wouldn't hold as well (all indications of a straight-out bad VSS)


What I have done so far:
Checked wiring on VSS - one wire was frayed - spliced in new wire
Checked wiring for continuity in spliced wires - looks good but still have the problem
Replaced VSS with new Honda one ($$$) - same problem but $100 poorer
Replaced TCU with one from ebay - same problem another $65 down the drain

What could I be missing here? Solenoids?
