93 Accord Timing belt tensioner issue
Since my last post I have successfully got the tensioner out of my way and replaced the water pump. I've got the new one in place and had began putting everything back together, when reinstalling the tensioners and putting the new belts on I noticed that the small nipple that is supposed to act as a pivoting point for the timing tensioner has been broke off. Without that little piece of the block there to hold that end of the tensioner in place the automatic tensioner seems to be useless? I'm not sure what I can do now to keep that end of it stationary so either the spring can apply some tension, or I can atleast move the tensioner myself enough to take the slack out of the belt enough to keep it from skipping a tooth. Anyone have a solution for the broken piece? Or an alternative way to secure that end of the tensioner? Or would I be able to just apply pressure enough to take out the slack and tighten the bolts to lock it in place?
