Since you stated the car will now run for 1-2 seconds, try this. Unplug the MAP sensor connector. This will not necessarily mean the MAP sensor is faulty. What will happen is that the PCM will go into pre-programmed limp mode, which ignores inputs from engine sensors.

This test is to see if the problem may possibly be due to an out-of-range sensor; there are other sensors also used by the PCM. You will probably get a Check Engine Light and trouble code; but, see if the car keeps running instead of only for 1-2 seconds.

Engine running for only 1-2 seconds sounds like a faulty ignition switch.
Next time you start it, hold the key switch and don't let it return all the way to the on position. See if that makes a difference.
If so, then it could be the electrical portion of your Ignition switch.
I had this happen on my 90 Accord EX.

Engine runs on 3 cyls, but you can't ID which cylinder or miss is moving from one cylinder to another. Is that the situation?

How were you able to determine running on 3 cyls w/ only a 2 sec run time? That's too short to ID which cylinder is at fault.

What happens when you attempt a start on throttle body cleaner or starter fluid w/ fuel injectors disabled (pull power to injector resistor bank)?

Does it start readily and run 5-10secs? If yes, a fuel delivery problem may be causing short run time; main fuel relay opening, blocked fuel inlet screen or fuel filter.

This could be faulty ignition switch as suggested. Check blk/yel wire at distributor for power loss when engine stops.

good luck

Engine will run and even rough idle with any one plug removed and grounding to valve cover.

Put plug back in and engine runs for 2 seconds only, remove diff. plug, engine runs and rough idle....

Thanks guys

Suggest verifying you have correct order for spark plug leads at distributor. 1-3-4-2 is correct sequences. An "A" marks #1 on distributor cap. Aftermarket cap may be different.

This suggestion is indicated since runs on 3-cyls and not on 4, suggesting additional cylinder gets firing order so bad it won't start.

good luck
