Default 94 Accord LX ticking when accelerating?

Hey guys! I'm fairly new to the forums, figured this would be a decent place to ask.

I can only hear it when I have the drivers side window down, but I hear a ticking noise when accelerating, and only when accelerating. When I clutch to shift, it stops, upon putting my foot on the gas again, it starts. I had a friend saying it could be the front-left cv joint, and when I got my tires changed, they said that could need replacement. But I wanted to make sure when a CV joint is wearing out, thats the noise it makes, and that isn't something else.

Thank you,

Welcome to HAF.

A noise on the internet is kind of hard to figure out. Yes, it could be a cv shaft but you fear of it being something else is also possible.

Is there any play in the cv joints?
