Default 94 accord won't rev past 2k

Hey guys I just replaced my motor with a f22 from a 97 and finally getting it to run it idles rough and seems like a misfire it won't rev past 2000 rpm and it just bogs and stalls out? I heard something about the crank position sensor? Does that need to be bypassed and could this be my issue? Thanks for the help

not enough info..

you could have a hundred places for problems with a newly installed engine. check wiring and connections. Check sensors for matching up with old engine. and so forth

I don't have old engine I've checked all plugs numerous times only sensor that not hooked up is the crank position sensor. I replaced main relay because it wasn't starting fired up after that and now this issue

The crank position sensor is part of the distributor housing on the 94 Accord; whereas, on the 97 the combined Crankshaft Position and TDC sensor is separate from the distributor housing. On the 97, it should be located just below the crankshaft, fastened to the oil pump housing.

Did you use the distributor from the 94 engine?

Were both motors F22B1 or F22B2?

Did you do any work on the new motor, like timing belt, tuneup, etc...?

Is the check engine light turning on while driving?
