94 auto accord engine backfire and stalls, then will crank but wont start
94 accord here, was driving fine up until a few weeks back when it started jerking a bit when turning corners. Eventually it just stopped running while idling at a busy intersection.
couldnt get it to start, sounded like fuel issue, so we replaced fuel pump and was fine at first (started and ran) but just now gas backfired and stopped. Again it will crank but wont start.
before we replaced fuel pump we checked the main relay with a multimeter and it seemed seemed fine
any idea what it could be? Could main relay be intermittent issue and fooled us into thinking it was ok? Or could it be injectors or something?

This is completely unrelated; but, I see you're located in Australia. Last year, a guy was giving away his Accord. You may want to contact him and see if it is still available, if you can't fix your ca or wanted parts. Looks like he initially was trying to sell it.

Crank no-starts can be caused by lack of fuel, lack of spark, bad timing/compression, limited/excess air, etc. Most common are lack of spark or lack of fuel. You'll need to determine if you are missing spark or fuel.
Have you checked for any engine codes? See the CEL writeup in the common diy thread on top of the gen tech help forum.
Has any work been done to the car recently?
There are a few ways to test for spark. A timing light on one of the spark plugs is very quick. If the timing light flashes, you likely have enough spark. A spark tester is another way to test, because you can increase the gap and see if the spark is strong enough to jump a larger gap. The tester has a scale on the back to estimate the voltage your coil is generating. An old spark plug will work, but a weak spark can fool you into thinking your spark is good.
A quick test for fuel is remove the snorkel from the throttle body. Have a buddy turn the key to start the car while you spray starter fluid/tb cleaner into the throttle body. If the engine runs (even poorly) then you have a fuel issue that you will need to track down.
