94 - please can any one out there guess what is wrong with my car?
here is the latest with my 94 accord lx 2.2L 5 speed manual transmission.
When i drive the car for 20 or 25 minutes on the highway (speeds of 70 miles per hour) or when i am driving stop and go for a considerable amount of time, maybe one hour or so (i think the time depends on how hot and humid it is ouside?) then i will feel the car shaking slightly, the steering wheel and dash ect. but the real problem starts when i apply the brakes and / or start slowing down , then the car starts to shake severly: the radio comparment and steering wheel shakes so much. if i let go the brakes the shaking is less but still alot. The severe shaking usually stops when i slow down then when i exelerate again the shaking is minimal.
I have alteast 145 000 miles on the car although it is a refurbished car so i don't know if that is accurate or not. Also I am thinking it might have something to do with the hot weather and high humidity. The problem only started in summer when it started getting very hot and humid.
You wouldn't know the car had a seriouse problem unless you drive it for some time.
Please is there any one out who has any idea about my problem let me know. If you need some more info just ask.

That sounds Dangerous and I would be very careful driving it over to a Tire Shop and Make sure the tire shop has an alignment rack to test all the Tie rods, ball joints and anything else that Must be LOOSE!
If it's that bad then you should do that without delay..

I have an idea... Brakes.
If it were only happening during braking, probably everyone would guess warped* brake rotors. But normally, that doesn't cause a problem unless you are actually applying the brakes.
If your brake fluid is old, or there's some air in the lines, the heat can cause the brake fluid to expand & maybe it will sorta 'apply' the brakes lightly all by itself. That combination might just cause what you're seeing.
But don't be afraid to check out all the ball joints & stuff like WheelBroker says.

ok good guess, it is the brakes. they were starting to lock up on me. The rotors dont seem warped , i got the calipers to work fine but it seems Pressure is not comming from the master cylinder. CAn it be something else? Before changing the master cylinder should i check anything else?

I had a similar problem (not quite as severe) turned out that I had a couple of loose lug nuts. If that or the ball joints aren't it, flush out your brake fluid, being that brake fluid absorbs the water out of the air, if it hasn't been changed in 12 years, no telling how much water or air is in there. That MAY explain why it only started happening when it is hot and humid. Definitely still check all 8 lugs and the ball joints

it is not loose lug nuts........if it were the noise would be there all the time ..i will be really shocked if it turns out to be loose lug nuts ..
have you replaced the brake master with a non-Honda master recently ?? has anyone replaced brake fluid ?? or have you gone to a quick lube place and they added supposely brake fluid to reservoir ? contaminating the system..
if it shakes when you apply the brakes it is most likely aa JIMBLAKE said ,warped rotors and or rear drums....also when you remove your foot off the brake pedal and continues to shake it might be stuck caliper (s) not releasing ,,
I would also inspect ALL the frt suspension parts.........ball joints, control arms, radius rods, p/s rack hoding bushings etc etc .. and especially the TIRES
