Default 95 Accord starting probelms

I am needing ideas to help my nephew on his 1995 Honda Accord 4cyl. He was driving the car yesterday and the steering got harder. He applied the brakes and they were harder than usual. When the car started slowing down it died. The car now cranks but won't start. It had gas and appears the electrical is working. I had the battery tested and it was good. I'm not aware of any problems leading up to this. It has been raining. It was driven about one mile. The car has been not driven as much as usual. Tried jump starting but still would not start. I am thinking moisture in dist cap and someone said a ground. This is all the info I have at this time becasue I was being told this third hand from his mother. Any ideas would be helpful.

When you get more information, try going along these lines...

Does the starter spin the engine?

Turn the key to ON but not immediately to START. Listen for the fuel pump to run for 2 seconds then quit.

Check for spark. Got a timing light? That's probably the easiest/best way to check for spark.

Ouch. It's an interference engine, so the pistons might have hit the valves. Gonna try to fix it?
