95 Accord stops running...
95 Accord, 4dr, LX
2.2 (non-VTEC)
California edition made in USA
250,000 (almost new) miles
Problem: car runs like a champ but is shutting off and the check engine lite comes on.
Error code 15
The problem seems to be when the car begins to warm up and can happen anywhere, on the
highway, parked, going up a hill, down a hill, etc. There is no regularity to the way it occurs.
When it shuts off, you can usually shut the ignition switch off and then on and quickly restart the car.
But, now you have to wait longer to restart...sometimes 5-10 minutes.
I replaced the fuel filter and air filter but as a result of reading these posts have discovered the
problem is some sort of ignition issue. When the car shuts off i checked to see if there was
any spark at the plugs and/or coil and there was NOT.
Any suggestions??

RE: 95 Accord stops running...
When its not startng, you should leave the ignition switch at the II position and check for 12V at the blk/yel wire that goes to the distributor/coil. If you do not have 12V to body ground, then the ignition switch is likely the fault.
If you have 12V, then the coil or ignitor are likely. There is a thread in the DIY section for determining if the problem is the coil or ignitor.
Also look at the Acc 5th gen... thread. It links you to an online manual for a 5th gen accord.

RE: 95 Accord stops running...
Thanks for the tip.
From the threads on here it seemed that it was the distributor with the internal module being the problem.
Relaced the distributor, $160 at Auto Zone, adjusted the timing and she runs like a champ.
Running really good now....THANKS!!
