Default 95 Accord won't stay running with key in the on postion

95 Accord
When I turn the key and hold it in the start position, she starts and runs with no problem. When I release the key back to the 'on' postion after starting, it dies. What do I do?

Another problem that started at the same time as this is the brake lights stay illuminated at all times. I have to disconnect the battery to turn them off. As soon as I reconnect the battery, they illuminate again.

Are these problems possibly related to a larger electrical problem?

you got issues with the electrical portion of the ignition switch,,

As for the brale lite staying on,, it could be a bad switch or the switch not scrwed in enough , thus the plunger will not go all the way back in

For those brake lights, it's probably the switch at the pedal. There's a little piece that the switch rests on when your foot is off the brake. When you push the brake, the switch pops out and your lights turn on.

On both Hondas i've owned, this problem happend to each of them. It's hard to work and get in under there, but I managed to shove some tape that will prvent the switch from being on. If you have a look under there and press the brake a few times, you'll see what I mean.

As far as your ignition problem, sounds like the electrical part of the switch for sure.
