96 accord with 97 h22a4 ??
First i want to say i am brand new to forums so if I do this wrong, sorry, ill catch on soon enough.
I own a 96 accord ex auto and I've acquired a 97 prelude with an H22a4 SH and its a manual.
The prelude is a complete car mechanically, body is shot and interior s gone.
My hopes are to use the motor and trans, as well as all of the five lug set up.
I'm mainly worried about some of what I've read about the whole "immobilizer" thing and the whole "SH" part of this motor. Because I have a complete prelude can i use everything off of it to make this work?
Any help is HIGHLY appreciated. Thx!

The problem you will run into is the output shaft on the H22a4 type SH is different than any other F/H series so it will only bolt up to the transmission in the type SH.
The immobilizer is easy to get pass with a 96 prelude ECU or go OBD1

Thanks a lot for replying. I have the five speed as well. Can I just use that? It's what I'd like to do anyway to convert to MT. Like I said the Prelude has everything in it still. Everything under the hood everything under the car, pedals, linkage, ecu, harnesses.

I think you should be good with the 5MT because the odd output shaft was on the triptronic.
The 97+ H22 ECUs had immobilizers. You'll either have to find a 96 ECU(usually sell for big bucks because people know about the immobilzer issue), convert to obd1, or swap in all the crap from the prelude to make the immobilizer think its still in the prelude, but that would be a major pain.

To do that wouldn't I need to just snag the column? Ill have it tore apart anyway to get the pedals swapped out.
Also do you or anyone else know if Icahn swap over the entire suspension? I had someone tell me that the rear is a direct fit but they weren't sure about the front.
Will I be about to use the prelude axles?
I obviously have a lot to figure out.
I'm going to spend a lot of time getting the motor like new befor I ever drop it in so I have some time.
Thanks again so much for any insight.

you can also get by the immobilizer by reprogramming your keys. most locksmiths can do this for around 100 bucks or so. i say locksmith because you need 2 keys, and if you dont have 2 keys, they can make you one on site.
