not exactly the best way to gain power as its not much to be had and makes your standard of living far less. AC is very straight forward, just remove the compressor, lines, belt, condenser, and if your really ambitious the whatever its called in the dash(sorry its getting late forgot the name).

PS is a little more complicated, easy way would be just to remove the belt. Not a full delete but yeah.

Removing the entire P/S and A/C systems saves about 30-40lbs worth of weight. It can be noticeable and it sometimes can't be. 5hp for free? I'll take it.

It's not all that hard to do. Looping the steering rack is about the hardest part. (You can't plug the hoses, otherwise you can't trun teh wheel much.)

The only time I've needed it was parallel parking on stock sized wheels and tires. It gets much easier on larger wheels and smaller tires. MUCH easier.

PS has its own belt, you can simply remove it.

AC shares the same belt with the alternator, so you need that.
But... When the AC is turned off, the compressor doesn't even spin. It just acts like an idler pulley, very little resistance.

OTOH, if you want to REMOVE the AC compressor for weight-reduction, then you have to get a different belt for the alternator. Maybe the belt from an Accord DX (which doesn't have AC)?

When I got rid of my AC I just measured what I needed to just run the alternator and called napa and they got me what I needed.
