Default 96 accord fuel tank replacement

my 96 accord has a hole in the fuel tank and i tried patching it and that didnt work so i am going to replace the tank. I havent started the project yet but i was looking through my hayns manual and it said i had to remove the rear seat gain access to a cover for the fuel sending unit and such. I have the rear seat out and see no cover. Can someone shed some light on this? Is this maybe for other years?

Any other tips on removal could be helpful too. Thanks!

Default RE: 96 accord fuel tank replacement

Start by downloading the 94-97 Honda Accord Shop Manual from hondahookup.com. It has good instructions on tank removal. I recently replaced fuel pump in my 94 EX. Check my posts on that repair. Fuel tank has to be removed from underneath the vehicle. Two straps retain the tank. Access cover is in the trunk under the trunk bed liner. Remove the liner and you'll see the cover on the RH side.

good luck
