96 Lx Heat not warm at all
It is starting to get cold and I just noticed my heat is not very warm when I turn it on all the way. The air is blowing well, it does get a touch warm but not as warm as I will need it in the winter. It is not overheating, so I don't think it is the thermostat. Haven't noticed any coolant leakage either. Also, this summer, my A/C wasn't getting very cold. Had coolent recharged and not change. It would only get slightly cool but not as cold as I would have liked it.
Are these issue related? Please help steer me in the right diagnosis direction.
Thanks!

The temperature control **** would be the first thing that I would check. The plastic in the **** can crack, and basically the **** will not turn the cable.
The heater cable goes through the pass. firewall to the valve on the heater core. You might want to have someone turn the ****, and see if that linkage in the engine bay moves. Spraying WD40 might help loosen up that connection if frozen. Those cables can be adjusted too.
Download a 94 shop manual from www.hondahookup.com/manuals to get detailed diagrams on how to do the diagnostic procedures.

First check whether the temperature control ****/lever is simply broken at the dashboard.
Look for the heater hoses from the enigne to the firewall. One has a valve (#1)in it, operated by a cable. Watch for that cable to move as someone turns the temperature control up & down. At least on '98 the car has to be turned on for this to operate; not sure about '96.
It could be as simple as the cable disconnected from the valve.
If the cable just doesn't move, post back. You'll have to get underneath the dashboard to see whether the cable is broken or disconnected at the other end. I think there's one cable from the control to an air-damper door. Then another cable from there out to the water valve.
