OK, I don't know whether the V-6 has any kind of baffles to block your view when you look through the oil cap. Can you see a steel shaft similar to that in the picture? Or just a sort of plate? Use a flashlight.

TDC sensor is down at the crankshaft pulley. Look for bad connections there.

I'm not at all sure about the code 70. It might be different for a V-6. Still a transmission code, but not sure about the tach signal.

Distributor cap isn't too expensive to try, but I don't think that would be it. Still, take it off & look for red rusty dust inside. That would indicate distributor bearings going bad. In that case you'll need a new distributor.

If squirrels are chewing on things, maybe they chewed on some wiring too. That would be real tough to figure out. You don't want to take for granted any wiring being OK.

UPDATE:

I towed my car to Auto Zone and they ran these codes with the gun:

-p1362
-No sigal in TDC1 sensor Circuit

-p1790
-Lock up Clutch does not engage

-p1382
-Cylinder position sensor no signal

Any insights? One of my spark plug black rods were red and dusty.? I still could not see my cam turn. I tried a new distrubtor cap to no avail...

thanks in advance.
