97 Honda LX 4 door car is unable to pull up but only down the power windows
#21
Someone fairly recently reported they were able to disassemble and clean the switch contacts. I have not done this on an Accord but have on Suburban and Jeep Gr. Cherokee. Work on a clean white towel. The parts are tiny and easy to lose.

Thanks for all your replies. I update the post. First, it is not the window channel but switch problem. The dealer has clearly told me to replace the master window switch. The Honda uses two types of switches, Weastec and TRW unit. The Honda parts support emailed me “Weastec and Toyo switches are interchangeable, but the TRW unit has a slightly different shape, so a Weastec switch will not fit into the Door Pull Pocket of a vehicle that originally had a TRW switch.” The Honda parts support told me to order the assembly part # 83570-SV4-800ZB. I could not get it. My vehicle door pull pocket is still good. I only need the switch unit under the door pull pocket. It seems one cannot order the switch unit only but assembly if his vehicle has the TRW switch type. Can anyone explain whether the Honda has the TRW switch unit available to fit the TRW Door Pull Pocket or all the switches are Weastec or Toyo switches? See the Honda parts here. I will check the Dorman switch and see whether it can fit into both of the TRW and Weastec door pull pocket.

Since you have switch assy removed, there is not much downside to attempting to disassemble and clean.
The TRW switch is the master control switch which disables all power window switches. It is not essential. You could just install a permanent jumper to enable.
A used switch assy via car-part.com search may be an option.
good luick

I got a Dorman Master Window Switch and replaced it. Now all windows work. I can confirm the Dorman switch fits into both of the Weastec and TRW switch type. If one’s vehicle power window cannot be raised but lowered only, the problem is mostly due to the failure of the master power switch. The 97 Honda Accord LX power window switch has two different types, Weastec and TRW. The difference is on the third screw hole position. The Dorman switch can fit into both of the switch types and is much cheaper than the Honda part.
