98 Accord 3.0 temp guage and fan.
I have taken the motor out of an 02 accord and put it in a 98. The fan and temp guage are not working. . I had to change the wiring harness and the computer with the motor. I took the car to the dealer and get the key reprogrammed for the security system. The fans both come on when I turn on the A/C. I have changed the temp switch and jumpered the wires to the switch. The fans do come on when I used the jumper. When I got the 98 it had a cracked head and I don't know if the temp guage or fans worked. Can anyone help me out?

Fans seem to be working correctly. Perhaps the car is never reaching a coolant temp that will close the thermoswitch and cause the fans to run. Since you don't have a temp gauge, the temp may be low. Is thermostat missing or stuck open? You might try bying (harbor freight) or borrowing a IR temp sensor and shoot the thermostat housing when engine is fully warmed to see if temp is getting near normal, probably 185-195F.
Regarding the temp gauge, you will need to connect the sensor to the harness. Check autozone for access to a repair manual. I don't have a repair manual for your car. Also you can download a good manual for $21.99 from seller automanualsource on ebay. This will locate the temp sensor and advise wire color for your harness.
good luck

I am not as familiar with the V6 setup. There are different sensors that turn on the fans vs controlling the temperature gauge inside the car.
The temperature sending unit has one wire going to it. If you find that location, unplug the electrical connector. Touch the wire to ground (any bare metal). Turn the key to the II position and see if the needle starts to quickly rise. Turn off the key before the needle hits to top and gets damaged.
I am not sure of the location of the temperature sending unit on a V6.
The temperature switch will have two wires. It turns on/off at one set temperature.
There is a coolant temperature sensor that sends the temperature signal to the PCM.
