Default 98 Accord acceleration stumble

Hi
I have a 98 Accord 2.2 vtec, which seems to pull back on acceleration around 3800 - 4000 rpm, once I get to 4200 rpm its fine. I did the EGR clean up about six months ago when the symptoms were similar but at around 1800 rpm and has been good until this started.
Is it possible the EGR is fouled so soon, or would the higher rpm suggest I look elsewhere.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I think the EGR system closes under heavy throttle. This problem more likely caused by spark plugs, distributor rotor/cap, or wires unless Coil-over-Plug. Any Check Engine Light?

good luck

No engine light, I will go back to basics and check plugs, leads etc.
Thanks for quick response

i think it might be the catlatic converter. i herd one time that it affects the higher rpms causes too much back pressure and the engine looses mass amounts of power

The plugs did it. I never thought it could be them as they were only 4 or 5 months old, good old bosch. Gone back to NGK this time.
As usual your help was spot on, thanks
