98 Accord starts and then dies
Hey guys , whats going on , ive been having this problem for quite a while now where the car would start but then the rpms just drop and the car shuts off, before it would do it once and wont have tht problem for weeks or so, but yesterday when i went to start my baby up she started up fine but as soon as i let go off the gas pedal it shuts off ??? so as long as i hold the gas pedal down a bit it will keep on running but as soon as you let go of the gas pedal it shuts off...... any ideas ?? Ive heard from some people tht it might be the EGR valve or something tht might be clogged ?? Or could it be anything else ?
Any help would be appreciated as i wanna solve the problem myself before i take it to a mechanic...

Egr won't cause a problem unless it is stuck open which isn't common. Much more likely to have clogged ports which doesn't affect idle. A little more detail would help. Is it a v6 or a 4? Has it had a check engine light on? Best guess the IAC is stuck. Have you had any idle fluctuations? Rpm reving up and down 1,000 or so rpms at a time.

Its a V6, there was no engine light on but ive had soem problems with it before like, it would die right after i start her up or even sometimes while driving..... Rpms were always stable, but this time it would not hold the rpms at a certain point making the engine stall...
I tried seafoming it yesterday and it worked !!!!! SO any suggestions as to what the problem could be ? Something clogged ?

When you say seafoam, do you mean in the gastank? I have heard of people putting it in thier vaccum lines on the brake booster. My 1993 is doing the same thing only it is a 4 cylinder.
